A mock test so called ‘rescue operation’ for Korean High Speed train HSR-350x was successfully conducted by KTX on test tracks at Goyang train depot October 11.

’Rescue operation’ is an act of towing a train to the nearest station using other train motor when the train comes to operation glitches while running on main lines.

A KTX train was articulated with HSR-350x and the test turned out quite a success ensuring that the former can help the latter in case of emergency on actual railway lines.

The mock test was organized by HSR-350x operation team that consists of members from KRRI and Ministry of Construction and Transportation. As many as 40 experts in rolling stock maintenance, transport safety and operations watched the test being conducted.

HSR-350x keeps on running on test between Kwangmyeong and East Daegu to secure system stability and reliability. It has recorded the running distance of 113,000km as of October, 2005.
