2021 Transport and Logistics Tech Trends Symposium

The KRRI hosted a symposium on the theme of Development Directions in Transport and Logistics in the Age of ‘With-Corona’ Scheme at the Lavender and Rosemary Halls, 63 Convention Center on Dec. 10th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium was hosted both offline and online, as well as live-streamed on YouTube (https://bit.ly/transymp).

Transport and logistics are closely related to our daily lives. Thus, a thematic presentation and expert discussion on Directions to Take in the Phased Return to Normalcy and Post-COVID-19 Era were conducted.

Secretary-General Kim Young Tae of the International Transport Forum (ITF) under the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) system gave a keynote talk on International Trends and Direction of Transport and Logistics. Min Jae-hong, the head of the Transport Logistics Structure Research Department of KRRI, and Yoo Seung-min, senior researcher with KRRI’s Advanced Logistics System Research Department made thematic presentations on Transport and Logistics Technology Trends in the Age of α (alpha) after COVID-19 pandemic.

In the following session, former President Hong Soon-man of the Korea Railroad Corporation served as moderator for a discussion on the Future of Transport and Logistics with Carbon-neutrality and 4th Industrial Revolution Technology after the COVID-19 Pandemic with panelists, including ITF Secretary-General Kim Young Tae; Deputy Minister Eo Myeong-so of the Transport and Logistics Office of the MOLIT; President Lee Seon-ha of the Korean Society of Transportation; President Ha Hun-Koo of the Society of Logistics Science and Technology, and Director-General Kwon Yongjang of the Future Transport Policy & Logistics Research Center.
